LIYA is a Bulgarian-born contemporary singer and songwriter, currently based in Boston, MA. Surrounded by a musical family, LIYA began her career early on and fostered her talents extensively while harnessing the attitudes of great musicians like Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin and Freddie Mercury, and further more looking up to modern day superstars like Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Jessie J. After graduating high school, LIYA moved to Boston to pursue an education at Berklee College of Music.

Appearing in multiple venues and media outlets in both Bulgaria and the US, such as the Foundation Room of House of Blues in Boston, Bulgarian National Television, Beverly Arts Fest, and many more, LIYA has made it a point to be seen and heard, making her captivating stage presence, quirky personality and powerful vocals for a must-see spectacle.

She released her first song “Superpower” in 2017 and followed it with her debut EP Past Lives in 2018. In January of 2019 she released the single “ART” as a gift to her boyfriend for their six-year anniversary and on March 8th - International Women’s Day - she released the powerful pop anthem “UNBOUND”, which glorifies self love and acceptance.

Recently releasing her latest single “Carnival”, a ballad she wrote as a gift for her best friend, LIYA is proving her power through her music, saying: “I want to connect with people, make them feel empowered; share their happiness, as well as their struggles.”
